The area of electric machines has undergone a significant advancement over the last few years. With the introduction of modern power electronics, advanced computing and signal processors, several new technologies have been developed. This session proposes to explore state-of-the-art in the design and analysis of electric machines and drives.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

• Novel topologies for electric machines
• Advanced concepts in the design and analysis of electric machines
• Advanced control strategies of electric motors and generators
• Fault-tolerant schemes for the control of electric drives
• Modern Converter designs for the control of electric motors and generators
• Specialized applications of electric machines
