In the “More Electric Aircrafts” the traditional hydraulic and pneumatic circuits are gradually replaced by lighter, more efficient electrical systems. Power electronics is a pervasive and enabling technology in the More Electric Aircraft. The aim of the proposed special session is to collect and disseminate the most advanced achievements in the field of power electronics developed for the More Electric Aircraft applications.

Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

• Power electronic converters for: flight control actuators; embedded electric start/generator; fan controllers; electric brakes; cabin air compressors; electric driven hydraulic pumps
• Power electronics cooling systems
• Power energy distribution systems in aircraft structures
• Fault tolerance and diagnosis techniques in power electronics components and systems
• Electromagnetic compatibility in aircraft applications
